This post will be about free filehosts .. mainly the ones to USE.
Not looking to make a list of ALL hosts, only the decent ones + a list of those to avoid.

In general, use an AD-Blocker when visiting any of these sites.

Hosts to avoid:
1fichier : slow for free users, 1 file / 2 hours.
Easyupload: 7 day file expiry on Limewire's filehost (the old easyupload is DEAD).
Nitroflare, Rapidgator, DDownload, Turbobit, DooDrive, KatFile, Uploadboy, ... : all premium hosts are bad for sharing on the forum.

Not the most useful host because of low file-size limit, but it's fast, files stay relatively long and no ads/popups whatsoever.

Hidan : Can't download from it (my AV blocks it). Tried with AV desactivated (I know it's not a good idea), and couldn't dl the file.
I use BitDefender.

Download limit for registered is only 20GB even though the help/faq section says otherwise.
And for downloading they use a very convenient 'rule':

Free users may experience download speeds of 100 kb/s when our server is on high demand. (512 kb/s for logged in)

Before I registered I started a download and it went straight to 100kb/s. After registering/logging in I re-started that same download and it went higher speed ~4mb/s
