Not looking to make a list of ALL hosts, only the decent ones + a list of those to avoid.

In general, use an AD-Blocker when visiting any of these sites.

Hosts to avoid:
Krakenfiles: slow speeds, blocked in UK.
Send.Now: harsh speed limits during server load periods, unable to provide a set limit with decent download speeds for users.
1fichier : slow for free users, 1 file / 2 hours, VPNs are banned. fuck this host.
Easyupload: 7 day file expiry on Limewire's filehost (the old easyupload is DEAD).
Nitroflare, Rapidgator, DDownload, Turbobit, DooDrive, KatFile, Uploadboy, ... : all premium hosts are bad for sharing on the forum.
Fastupload.io seems dead .. links to a different page now.
Gofile, Files.fm and Buzzheavier: file expiry period is too short.
Zippyshare.day removed due to horrendous ads and nobody used it anyway

Not the most useful host because of low file-size limit, but it's fast, files stay relatively long and no ads/popups whatsoever.

Download limit for registered is only 20GB even though the help/faq section says otherwise.
And for downloading they use a very convenient 'rule':

Free users may experience download speeds of 100 kb/s when our server is on high demand. (512 kb/s for logged in)

Before I registered I started a download and it went straight to 100kb/s. After registering/logging in I re-started that same download and it went higher speed ~4mb/s

I may be remembering this wrong, but I think Buzzheavier used to host the files longer before they got their servers raided by the police last year. It's a great host for temporary files nonetheless. I've used it a few times and I haven't noticed any speed cap from them.
Also, Workupload is pretty good for files under 2 GB. I think they can stay alive for months or even years though I haven't tested it for that long so
I think WorkUpload would be a really great option when uploading books or music.

I have some experience with send.cm (now send.now). For smaller filesizes, it's pretty good though I've had to endure the DL speed cap many times. I can't remember the average but my guess is it's below 1 MB/s though I remember that the cap starts right after you've downloaded some files. For example, if you've downloaded 4 episodes of 150 MB each, then the cap appears. And I've seen small files being hosted for months, usually TVrips of 200 MB or less. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty good site to keep files on the long run even if dealing with it can be a bit frustrating.
I hope this, even if a bit inaccurate, helps uploaders when choosing host sites.

dropmefiles: short file expiry, we want longer file expiry so re-upping happens less frequently (and it was extremely slow for me)
sendgb extend: only get 5GB of long term storage (90 days) for files under 250MB, larger files expire after 7 days. Storing files longer requires PAYMENT.
