Awesome job admin! If you guys can keep up with the EDM scene like I saw today, you’ll be the absolute go-to site again. After months of total bummer, with sites that are kinda useful in emergencies but super sloppy, finally a ray of sunshine.

one thing I did notice on the main site, going back through the backlog of music releases, is that you can't go past page 333. seems to happen regardless of whether you are searching back through a category, or everything

I went through the new releases tonight, and as everyone else has said, the site seems to be working great. And obviously, a ton of things are being posted.

@Scnlog Great job, and thanks. If you don't mind me asking, how did "fixing" the search function also make the site in general run smoother? Or were those two different things you were working on?

I'm just curious. If there isn't a Cliff's Notes version of an answer, I totally get it, and don't worry about it.

i noticed that since yesterday the titles of flac releases are displayed in 1 line with the end of the release names often cut off where it used to display the release titles in more than 1 l.ine if it was a long title name

I can raise that a bit later but usually only bots go that deep, so I don't this it's a big issue for most people.

Search was the main reason the server was so slow. The way WordPress handles search means that every search ends up scanning millions of rows in the DB (which takes many seconds to complete), then you multiply that by dozens of searches every minute from normal users and especially from bots, and the server quickly becomes overwhelmed and can barely keep up with the workload. That task has now been offloaded to a dedicated search engine (Manticore), which handles it like a charm at a fraction of the cost.

That's actually true for all releases, they don't wrap to a new line if the title it's too long. I think it looks better that way. Also the release size has been added below the title.

Getting a lot of Cloudflare errors the last day.
The forums/site are offline more than its online for myself and a few others.

SSL handshake errors ... or host unavailable etc.

Talking to some friends right now and they all have this issue mentioned above.

As a test they went to bckndv2 and that loads, but gives the HTTP ERROR 500 when trying to log in.

Something busted .. CF? They all say it started after the maintenance.

@Scnlog - The ebooks section on PreDB etc. generally shows a huge comics file dump every few days, but only some seem to make their way here while the bots skip the rest. Is it that they get overwhelmed?

Also, as @aGGyunit said, getting repeated 525 SSL handshake failures... Took me 4 tries just to make some minor edits to this post.

You can hoover over the release title with your mouse cursor and it will show the complete name. I'm sure that works on a laptop as well.

that does work but its not as easy when scrolling as just seeing the full release name on the screen

Weird.
If you're blocked on the forum, it's the entire forum.

Something weird is going on.
Been talking on IRC to some people that can't visit the main website (or the forum), but they can see sections and individual pages on the main site (from the RSS) feed.

Maybe @admin @Scnlog can check what happened the last few days as lots of people seem to be having access issues.
Even looking at Who is online show's the majority of visitors looking at error pages.


I have not changed any settings, have not modified any IP ban ranges.

To rule out a config corruption I have backup and and purged the current FORUM IP ban list.
So for the forum, currently: No IPs have been banned.

Feel free to PM me IP's or IP ranges that you have issues with and I can check the forum ban list to confirm.

I can already share that 1 OVH SAS IP we tested earlier is showing a site wide BAN, but nothing on the forum ban list matches it.

@Scnlog @admin : did you implement any ban lists / filter lists on the main site .. or in CloudFlare ?

I've been working on the problems reported here, some of them are being quite hard to debug. Let's wait some hours to see if the problems are fixed, especially the SSL handshake one. But regarding any IP bans, I didn't change anything there. I might even remove some bans on IP ranges from many years back, which was me hopelessly trying to block bot traffic.

Not sure if this helps but if you are using a chrome-based browser there is an extension to copy link titles to clipboard. Just right-click and click "Copy Link Name"
