The clear "1 RELEASE / topic!" policy has definite advantages. Then again, when it comes to TV releases, having to turn what for all practical intents and purposes is a season request into a bunch of episode requests has definite disadvantages as well, for both requesters and fillers, and doubly so when the season has more episodes than the daily quota. I think I've thought of a way to have the cake and eat it too, though:
Single-episode requests remain in "TV" proper, of course. The only downside I see is that season requests may simply happen too rarely to be worth creating category-specific rules such as these for.
Thoughts?
- Make a subforum called... actually, I haven't been able to come up with a good name, so I'll just call it "Sub" herebelow.
- Requesting a full season (or some other group of releases, potentially) becomes a two-step process:
- Start by posting episode-request threads just as currently, except in "Sub" instead of in "TV" itself.
- Then return to "TV" and post one additional season-request thread whose OP must (!) include links to the episode threads, instead of or as well as links to srrdb et al.
- Fillers need never bother looking at threads in "Sub" directly, only indirectly via said links in the season thread, and only if they're interested in filling season requests in the first place.
- Fills may consist of single releases or a season pack, and either way may be posted as a single reply in the season thread (less effort, less likes), or as replies in each of the episode threads (more effort, more likes).
