Welcome to the Feedback page which serves the same purpose as it did in the old Scnlog and it's the best way to "talk" to the admin. You can make your suggestions, complaints or requests here, preferably in a polite manner. If you are making a request for a scene release make sure it's not too old. Don't ask for re-uploads of stuff that was taken down to DMCA complaints.
Since we are in the beginning, there are probably some errors I didn't notice. I'm mainly interested in releases that are in the wrong categories. If you spot one, please let me know.

It’s pretty old (4+ years), so all links posted here are obviously gone, and I can’t find the scene version anywhere… only a p2p, non .xci version, but I’m looking for the real thing and here’s the best place to do so.

Abysmal Dawn is an American Death Metal band created by vocalist,
guitarist and main songwriter Charles Elliott. Abysmal Dawn was created in 2003
and released their debut From Ashes in 2006. In this pack I have a remastered version
of the debut released in 2012. Abysmal Dawn is a pure Death Metal band but what differs
from their peers is the lyrical content. No usual gore, blood, slaughter or horror,
but the songs are mostly about Occult, Loss, Science fiction and Social commentary.
Musically, it is American Death Metal and no underlying subgenres.
They are not a Technical Death Metal band but it is technical and in my opinion Charles Elliott
has some of today’s best death metal vocals. They are very riff based, almost a little groove
in the riffs. Not a meat and potatoes Death band, but clearly one of the better bands of the 2000s
in their genre. The drums are very much to my taste, not just blast beats,
and well-planned double bass drums. Very well produced and the mix is modern
and you hear every instrument perfectly. For fans of Hate Eternal, Aeon on Blood Red Throne.
Another thing that is very important to me is the album covers and artwork and their DIGIPACKS
is a sight to behold. This rar folder contains their 5 official studio albums and their latest EP.

Like you, I like brutal death but not slam. The bands I prefer are in the majority of new wave which fuse brutal death with deathcore, technical death or symphonic metal such as: ACRANIA, ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY, CYTOTOXIN, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, FRACTAL GENERATOR, HOUR OF PENANCE, INGESTED, MASS INFECTION, MENTAL CRUELTY, NEUROMORAL DISSONANCE, REPUGNANCE,SENTENCED TO DISSECTION, STRYCHNIA and THE UNBORN DEAD.
NILE is one of the first bands that I got interested in like HATE ETERNAL, DECREPIT BIRTH and ORIGIN and and it’s a band that anyone who claims to like technical death must have their albums.
Pure power metal is not at the top of my preferences despite I like bands like DRAGONFORCE, FALCONER, SONATA ARCTICA, VEXILLUM and recently MARCO GARAU’S MAGIC OPERA.
For bands like ENSIFERUM, I recommend the first 20 bands mentioned on their page at Metal-archives as similar artists (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ensiferum/332).

Same here, I like the new wave of BDM. Pure slam bands for is like Limp Bizkit trying to play Death Metal. Yes, I do like a slam riff here and there and I love Suffocation but they are pure Technical/Brutal Death Metal, my favourite subgenre. And I like Devourment who pretty much fathered
slam, but Devourment is Extreme Brutal Death Metal, who slowed down a riff section over pretty much a breakdown and later bands took that and created what we now know as slam. But when it comes to new wave of Brutal Death Metal bands I like are some of those you list Cytotoxin, Hour Of Penanceed. I really like Pathology from 2010 to 2021, their first three albums unaudible unlistenable due to the production and mixing. I absolutely adore Fleshgod Apocalypse, but I
I don’t know how to define their genre, yes they are Brutal, but just like metallum I would define as Symphonic Technical Death Metal,
but an absolutely fantastic band. Another band I like
another band I absolutely like is Septicflesh, Symphonic and Atmospheric Death Metal with some Brutal elements. I have a folder on my external drive with probably over 300 Brutal Death releases mostly ripped by DiTCH. I must really sort that whole folder. Probably is only 20 percent listenable, due to the fact that much of the new Brutal Death is often downright slam metal.
The elitist in me refuses any form of Deathcore. I like core but only Grind or Gore, Exhumed is my top 10 band of all time. But over time I’ve started to appreciate when you mix Brutal Death or symphonic with Deathcore. Ingested and Mental Cruelty are growing on me. I just found some bands with Deathcore elements that I’m really starting to like. Distant. Signs Of Omnicide. Vulvodynia and Desecrate The Faith. So maybe I’ll outgrow my narrow-minded cocoon.
But I will probably always be a fan of Pure Death Metal, not OSDM but OSDM playing it modern with new production and modern mixing. But it’s good talking with you becuase you are opening my mind. But here are my favorite DM bands:

The input is a .torrent file; I used the one at https://rarbg.to/torrent/8ad3pht (“MP3-daily-2023-March-09-R.and.B”, 255.35 MB). Alternatives like magnet links are supposedly supported too, but didn’t work for me straight away. The output is a list of filehost links mirroring the torrent contents as an archive (rar, apparently, I don’t recall there being options for that). I ticked only zippyshare, and voila:

Caching the torrent took days, which seems silly for something that small, but I fed the same one into seedr just now for the sake of comparison, and it was still in the single-digit percentages when it gave up on it after two hours, so that’s likely more to do with the torrent than with the service.
Advantages, compared to regular proxies: Uploader has the option which portions of the torrent to include in the archive. Downloaders don’t need to register.
Disadvantages: Downloader does not have the option to download only portions of the archive in turn, of course. Plus, same as for any other filehost download, compared with a conventional fileserver: ads, throttling, limited longevity, et cetera.
ps: Offcloud has by now managed to get a whopping 928 KB / 8.06 GB for the other one! 😛

The reason I ask is precisely because Equilibrium is from Germany and has chosen to sing the lyrics
in German. Do you understand German in both writing and speech.
Or is the understanding of a song’s lyrics not the most important thing
when the music is so majestic?
Finntroll, a Blackened Folk Metal band from Finland belongs to a small minority in Finland who speak Swedish as their mother tongue. Do you like Finntroll, even if you don’t understand Swedish? I’ve had big problems listening to bands that don’t sing in English or Swedish before, but now I let the melody and music take over. You almost become like a child again who listens to a fairy tale you don’t really understand, but then creates your own images and fantasies, which is almost more exciting.
Anyway, thanks for publishing the Equilibrium pack, it will be a pleasure. I myself have some ideas about packs. May I ask what you think of Avantasia,

Benighted, not only one of my favorite death metal bands, but one of my favorite metal bands period.
This is modern Brutal Death Metal with elements of grindcore and a little taste of Black Metal. Take Cattle Decapitation, put them in a pot and stir with a bunch of Dying Fetus and then flavor it with Behemoth. Singer Julien Truchan’s vocals are insane, he goes low like Sean Beasley of Dying Fetus. The next second he screams out loud, reminiscent of Trevor Strnad (RIP) from The Black Dahlia Murder. The riff is completely to my taste, both technical and groove.
So why don’t I call this rar folder Discography. Well, two studio albums, the debut and the sequel and an EP are missing. I left them out of this because they are actually not even worth listening to, but also there are no good stage releases on the net.

I’d like to message the site admin, but can’t make https://scnlog.me/contact work. The page prominently suggests turning off adblock for a captcha to show up, which I did to no avail. Ditto for trying different browsers. My impression from the occasional past comment was that the page was working for others, so either I’m not doing it right, or it’s broken again. Is the capcha in question supposed to be the same as the one below the box into which I’m typing this comment, and with which I’ve never had an issue? Help! 🙂
