Synopsis: The ten-episode series Borgarstjrinn (The Mayor) follows comedian, former real-life Reykajvk mayor, and prior Grapevine cover model Jn Gnarr, as he returns to a role he knows quite well. However, this time round, cameras are rolling. Jn co-wrote the series with Hrefna Lind Heimisdttir, lafur S.K. orvaldz and longtime collaborator Ptur Jhann Sigfsson. Ptur and Jn are well-known for their work together on Nturvaktin (The Night Shift), a television show focusing on employees of a Laugavegur gas station. Jn, who is set to direct five of the ten episodes, plays the Major of Reykjavk in this satirical take on politics in Iceland. Its a tragi-comedy, much like actual Icelandic politics, Jn says.
