Why so many missing French, Spanish, Italian releases compared to Scandi?

Maybe a dumb question, but I'm just curious as to how releases of TV shows work. Why are so many TV shows from Spain, Italy and France missing? For example, versions of popular International shows like The Traitors and The Floor can be found for all Nordic countries, but the French and Spanish versions don't even show up on SRRDB. It can't be a demand issue since hundreds of millions of people around the world speak Spanish, whereas the few people who understand Swedish mostly live within Sweden (where watching these TV shows anyway is easy).

The following is my guess/opinion, not based on any actual knowledge of what is going on in the scene (as I am not a scene member).

- The scene has been shrinking for years. Things have been on a decline since the SPARKS busts a few years ago. It's much harder to get in than it was 25 years ago.
- Foreign shows have historically always had a smaller audience due to the language (less people etc).
- The non English part of the scene has always been much smaller than the English one. Less groups, less releases = less coverage.
- Why the Swedish/Norwegian/Danish releases are more common than French/Spanish/Italian, no idea to be honest.
- Lack of French/Italian/Spanish releases; all I know is that France and Italy go hard against piracy, many torrent sites/streaming platforms are busted every year. They go hard with DMCA/NTD as well. Italy has a "Piracy Shield" to try and stop piracy. I think many people just don't want to take the risk.
- The Traitors in French. According to

it's called "Les Traîtres". According to PREDB there was a scene release for season 1 by the release group PREZ.
Unfortunately there have been no more releases by them since December 2022. No sign of season 2 (which was from 2023) having a scene release.
- There is Les.Traitres.QC (from Canada, in French), onto Season 2 now, released by BAWLS.
- I think most of these shows will have foreign names as searching for "Traitors French" does not find anything.
- Might have to look at torrent sites to see if there are P2P releases for some of these (once you have the proper name).

bonus: Traitors Espana Season1:

Google/Bing/Yandex is often your friend when looking for P2P stuff :)

My 2 cents.

Thank you for finding those links!

A lot of good points. I do agree on the point about anti-piracy. As someone who downloads a lot of French movies I can confirm that those get taken down almost immediately.
